How does faith operate to make it possible to believe? President Dieter F. Uchtdorf pleaded with the Saints: “Please, first doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. We must never allow doubt to hold us prisoner and keep us from the divine love, peace, and gifts that come through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ” (“Come, Join with Us,” 23).

How can you become more willing to follow the Church and its teachings?

The superscription to Helaman 7 was part of the ancient record translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith and dictated by him to his scribe (see also, for example, 2 Nephi, Mosiah 9, and 4 Nephi). The phrase “Comprising chapters 7 through 16” was added to later editions of the Book of Mormon.

What does the superscription suggest about the book of Helaman? The “[superscription] before chapter seven tells us that Nephi wrote the chapters of the book of Helaman after that point. … This material was an extract from a separate record in Mormon’s possession. Clearly a number of men had a significant hand in producing the book of Helaman” (Tvedtnes, “Colophons,” 35–36).
