“I Did Cry Unto Thee in My Field and Thou Didst Hear Me.”

W. Cleon Skousen

In these verses, Alma has established two things. First of all he has established that God hears his servants in the wilderness, in the field, in their homes, in the synagogue or wherever they are. The place isn't important. God will hear you. Secondly, he hears you because of his Beloved Son. In three steps Alma has gone from the seed in the heart to the willingness of God to hear all their prayers to the mission of God's Beloved Son. What a great teacher! And the last topic was where Alma wanted to be all the time. From here on Alma dwells exclusively on the subject of the Son of God.
